The night included eleven new member sign-ups.

Chiang Mai, Thailand: Skal International (SI) Chiang Mai hosted a special membership drive yesterday at the Le Meridien hotel with (60) members and guests and were welcomed by Club President Jonky Dawson. The night included eleven new member sign-ups.

Special thank you to National President of SI Thailand Wolfgang Grimm and International Councillor for Thailand Heike Garcon for their dedication and efforts presenting “What is Skal, and how can it help you”. 

The night also included an excellent local presentation, emphasising the local connection and information sources for the city. The club’s special initiative is Sports Tourism, and labelling Chiang Mai as the Sports Capital of Asia, with major events such as Professional Bike Racing. 

The club is delighted on last night’s success and is looking forward to more to come this year.

English born Andrew J Wood, is a freelance travel writer and for most of his career a professional hotelier. Andrew has over 35 years of hospitality and travel experience. He is a Skal member and a hotel graduate of Napier University, Edinburgh. Andrew is also a former member of the Executive Committe of Skal International (SI), National President SI THAILAND, Club President of SI BANGKOK and is currently SI Asia Area a.VP Southeast Asia (SEA), and Director of Public Relations Skal International BANGKOK. He is a regular guest lecturer at various Universities in Thailand including Assumption University's Hospitality School and the Japan Hotel School in Tokyo.
