Prague to Beijing direct flights resume, boosting tourism

Hainan Airlines restarts thrice-weekly direct flights from Prague to Beijing, enhancing travel and tourism between the cities.

Prague will, once again, have a direct connection with China. Effective 24 June, Hainan Airlines is resuming its direct route between Prague and Beijing, which the carrier will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays year-round. The re-launch of direct flights to China is good news for both inbound tourism and Czech travellers.

I am pleased that after long negotiations we managed to resume direct flights to China. Re-launches of long-haul routes are our long-term priority, and Asia represents a very important source market. While a record number of over 600 thousand tourists from China arrived in the Czech Republic in 2019, last year there were only 90 thousand Chinese visitors. I firmly believe that the resumed direct connection to Beijing will be just the right stimulus for the further development of inbound tourism from China. The connection to Beijing will also be a great opportunity for Czech tourists to not only explore the Chinese capital but, thanks to connecting flights, also the whole of China and Asia.” Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, said.

With more than 20 million people, Beijing is one of the most populous cities in the world. The capital of the People’s Republic of China leaves a grandiose and spectacular impression on its visitors. Beijing combines modern skyscrapers with a number of historical monuments, such as the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and Tian’anmen Square. Tourists should also take a trip to the Great Wall of China and taste the famous Chinese cuisine delicacies.

Starting on June 24th, 2024, Hainan Airlines will operate three flights per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) connecting Prague and Beijing. The outbound flight departs from Prague Václav Havel International Airport at 14:00 local time, arrives at Beijing Capital International Airport at 05:20 local time the following day. The inbound flight departs from Beijing Capital International Airport at 02:30 local time and arrives at Prague Václav Havel International Airport at 06:45 local time.

Hainan Airlines currently operates over 40 international and regional passenger routes from China, including Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Haikou, Chongqing, Xi’an, Changsha, Taiyuan, Dalian, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou. In the future, Hainan Airlines will speed up the resumption and expansion of international and regional flights to meet market demand for passengers’ travels. As the only SKYTRAX Five-Star airline in Mainland China, Hainan Airlines will provide customers with safe, convenient, and enjoyable air travel experiences, to advance China’s civil aviation industry.
