Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View expands global hospitality group's established presence in Greater China

SHANGHAI, China -- Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, a world's renowned hotel franchisor with more than 9,000 hotels, has officially returned to Hong Kong with the opening of Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View on January 7, 2019.

With this move, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has entered a new phase of development in Greater China, under the brand-new strategy for China of "All-star, Multi-brands and New Model". At present, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has over 100 Ramada hotels in the China region.

Located at 239 Queen's Road West in the Western District of Hong Kong Island, Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View is adjacent to Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay CBDs and within a one-minute walk to Sai Ying Pun MTR Station. The hotel has a total of 432 rooms, most of which offer a breathtaking view of the Victoria Harbour.

With its independent multifunctional meeting room and prime convenient location on the Hong Kong Island side, Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View is popular amongst many business travellers. In the Terrace Cafe, which offers exclusive outdoor seating, guests can enjoy a wide range of international wines and dishes as well as the charming view of the cosmopolitan city. The Sky Pool on the 38th floor is equally distinctive, with a 25m-long open rooftop space bringing together the ocean and the sky, creating a harmonized ambience. By the Sky Pool, guests can get away from the hustle and bustle in the crowded Hong Kong city, leave all the worries behind and immerse in relaxation.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' expansion in the Greater China region

Ramada is widely recognized around the world with more than 850 hotels across more than 60 countries, serving global business and leisure travellers. As part of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Ramada has been painstakingly cultivating the Chinese market for more than two decades, and the iconic red logo of the brand has endeared itself to the Chinese people and is being embraced by more and more property owners and guests. With the passion, vitality and hospitality synonymous with the Ramada brand, Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View will provide Chinese as well as foreign visitors to Hong Kong with familiar hospitality and comfort.

"Hong Kong, Pearl of the Orient, always attracts travellers from all over the world with unique and natural advantages in its geographic location, economy and culture," said Leo Liu, President of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Greater China. "The apparent recovery of Hong Kong's tourism industry last year has given us an excellent opportunity to introduce our globally renowned Ramada brand here. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has been preparing for its return to Hong Kong for a long time, and the debut of Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View will for sure provide guests with an excellent stay that is consistent across the group's hotels. We hope that in the near future, we can further expand the footprint of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan."

Based on data from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the first half of 2018 saw more than 30.6 million visitors to Hong Kong which set a record high since 2003; 23.67 million of those visitors were from mainland China, which was a 13.4% increase over same period last year. With the continuous rise in the number of visitors to Hong Kong, the city's hotel industry might just enter a golden age.
