The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) collaborates with Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police to introduce efficient traffic management measures for the upcoming MATTA Fair.

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAISIA – In response to the traffic challenges witnessed during the MATTA Fair in March, the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has forged a strategic partnership with the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police. This alliance aims to streamline traffic around the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) during the MATTA Fair scheduled for September 1-3, 2023.

The previous fair held in March saw an extraordinary turnout, resulting in significant traffic congestion around the MITEC venue. “Our upcoming MATTA Fair in September is anticipated to attract a substantial crowd. By collaborating with the traffic police, we aim to enhance the overall visitor experience. Coupled with our frequent and complimentary shuttle services from prime city locations, we expect a marked improvement in accessibility,” stated Nigel Wong, MATTA President.

MITEC’s CEO, Mala Dorasamy, expressed her enthusiasm for the forthcoming MATTA Fair, emphasizing the importance of the event’s location within KL Metropolis, a hub characterized by its blend of urban progression and commercial vitality. She further highlighted the importance of sustainability, advocating for eco-conscious transport options like Rapid KL, carpooling, and utilizing the event’s free shuttle services to reduce environmental impact.

For the September MATTA Fair, MATTA and the traffic authorities have rolled out a comprehensive traffic management plan:

  1. Revised Traffic Direction: Traffic patterns around MITEC will be reconfigured to relieve congestion, ensuring a smoother ingress and egress for vehicles.
  2. Enhanced Traffic Oversight: Traffic Police will be stationed at crucial points, including traffic signals near MITEC and major intersections, to monitor and swiftly address any traffic bottlenecks.
  3. Shuttle Bus Priority: Recognizing the value of group transportation, Traffic Police will prioritize the free shuttle services, ensuring quicker access and alleviating traffic intensity.
  4. Promotion of Free Shuttle: Attendees are urged to avail the no-cost shuttle service to MITEC, operational between 8am-10pm from Sunway Putra Mall and KL Sentral, to mitigate potential traffic jams.

The MATTA Fair will be open to the public from 10am-9pm over the three-day duration, with complimentary entry.
