Thai Vietjet amplifies Phuket flight operations following Prime Ministerial talks

From October 2023, Thai Vietjet will operate a total of 204 flights weekly to/from Phuket International Airport.

Following the recent discussion and direction between Thailand’s Prime Minister Mr. Srettha Thavisin and the Thai Airlines Association, Thai Vietjet announced to increase the number of flights to/from Phuket to a total of 204 flights weekly, which increases by 61% by the end of the year, starting from October 2023.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Vietjet, said “As a Thai carrier and an active member of the Thai Airline Association, Thai Vietjet was honored to discuss and present our proposal to our Prime Minister. We all agreed that tourism is one of the largest sources of sustainable income for Thailand, and it’s important that we push forward and enhance policies to stimulate the tourism industry in the long run, including the free-visa policy for tourists from potential countries such as China and India. In response to those open policies, Thai Vietjet will be increasing our flight capacity to Phuket, which is one of the most popular Thai destinations, from 126 flights weekly to 204 flights weekly, beginning October onwards, which highlights our relentless efforts to contribute to the recovery and sustainability of the travel industry.”

From October 2023, Thai Vietjet will operate a total of 204 flights weekly to/from Phuket International Airport, including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai which will be resumed from 29 October with 4 flights weekly on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

For International services from Phuket, apart from current flights connecting with Ho Chi Minh city, the carrier will soon announce its additional services to different cities in China, India, South East Asia, and possibly Australia.

Thai Vietjet has been actively expanding its capacity to meet the increasing demand of travelers and to stimulate the recovery of the tourism industry. It has also been expanding flight network both domestically and internationally to diversify flights services, offering more flying opportunities at affordable prices to its passengers.
