The Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) will showcase the very best of local produce and wines during AIME 2006. The MECC continues its tradition of sourcing fresh produce from many regional Victorian farms and boutique wineries from areas including the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula.

According to the MECC`s chief executive, Mr Leigh Harry, the centre has always proudly supported Victorian industries and particularly local food and wines. These are important products for the MECC in creating a favourable impression of Melbourne and Victoria.

The MECC`s award-wining food and beverage service reflects our commitment and passion to food and we only use the very best of locally grown raw ingredients and seasonal produce, Mr Harry says.

The MECC`s annual support for Victorian produce and wine is in excess of $2.3 million and growing year on year.

More than two million people each year attend conventions, meetings and specialised events at the MECC – all of whom sample the best on offer in Victoria.

All the products served at the MECC are carefully chosen to ensure delegates get top quality and choice. The MECC`s menu has a restaurant style selection of foods and a wine list to suit every event, Mr Harry says.
