Covid-19 & Good Hygiene Practice – Online training course developed for Thailand

The online course, delivered in Thai, can be tailored to include each property or brands SOP’s and will cover all aspects of good hygiene practice in a post-COVID environment.

The COVID-19 Good Hygiene Practice eLearning program has been designed to help hospitality and tourism businesses re-open when the COVID-19 travel restrictions are lifted in Thailand.

“To ensure hospitality businesses are prepared to re-open, it is important that all staff have the necessary training and knowledge to minimize the risk for staff and customers,” says Michael Clarke, CEO Kingsmen Hospitality. “Our comprehensive online training module of three live instructor-led lessons will teach you and your team to properly operate in this new environment.” The Kingsmen service includes 3 steps; Training in COVID-19 & Good Hygiene Practices including Manual, SOP Implementation, External Audit.

The online course, delivered in Thai, can be tailored to include each property or brands SOP’s and will cover all aspects of good hygiene practice in a post-COVID environment. Businesses receive an exercise workbook and a certification in Occupational Hygiene from Kingsmen Hospitality Services. As COVID health and hygiene policies evolve, the online training will reflect guidelines based on BRC (British Retail Consortium) & ISO 22000 (HACCP) Standards Courses and include Ministry of Health Requirements and Tourism Authority of Thailand Safety and Health Administration (TAT SHA) certification criteria.

“Hospitality and tourism businesses will have an important role to play in continuing this successful re-opening and getting back on the road to recovery – this training course will help ensure this occurs.”, said Dr Scott Michael Smith from Assumption University’s Dept. of Hospitality and Tourism.  Dr Scott, University lecturer and Director of Young SKÅL International Bangkok, serves as an advisor for the Kingsmen’s Virtual Academy.

Assumption University tourism management students and faculty were involved in the beta-testing of this eLearning program and many will receive a Safety, Health and Hygiene certification from Kingsmen Hospitality Services.

“I hope all tourism students and front-line workers in the hospitality and tourism industry in Thailand receive this timely, valuable information.”, says Dr Scott, “The course contains quizzes, test and downloadable training materials that make it more engaging and practical and can be used in the classroom and on the front line of hospitality.”

By the end of the training participants will be able to recognize safety and health hazards as well as hygiene risks and understand how they may be prevented and controlled and how to ensure safety for themselves, those they work with and the guest.
