Penghu welcomes Resorts World One

Weekly cruise arrivals forecast to bring 60,000 domestic and international tourists.

PENGHU – With Resorts World Cruises recently launching the start of its homeport deployment from Kaohsiung on 4 April 2023, the Resorts World One continues to create new milestones as she celebrates her inaugural arrival today at Penghu with over 2,400 guests and crew.

With the Resorts World One arriving every Tuesday at Penghu, the cruise ship is scheduled to make 30 calls to the island before end November 2023, bringing weekly domestic and international tourists from its Kaohsiung and Hong Kong homeports. The Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government in collaboration with a local university displayed a spectacular performance with over two hundred drones at the Kaohsiung homeport on 10 April 2023 to welcome passengers on board the Resorts World One as part of its great hospitality.

The inclusion of Penghu as part of her 4-Day/3-Night cruises will enhance the value and experience for vacationers, which also provides an added alternative to visit the popular island in a comfortable and convenient manner. Penghu is an archipelago of nearly 90 islands and is renowned for its white sandy beaches with crystal clear waters – an ideal destination with abundance of seaside fun activities for travellers of all ages, such as snorkelling, fishing, island-hopping boat tours and more. Besides that, Penghu is also famous for its scenic and historical charm that is rich with cultural heritage.

Guests can also explore multiple attractions during the Resorts World One port-of-call in Penghu, including the Tonglian Great
Banyan Tree that is estimated to be over 200 years old forming a remarkable green canopy; or visit the refine and distinctly styled
Tianhou Temple, Taiwan’s oldest and finest temple; the Erkan historical village that features old traditional-style houses with
exquisite craftsmanship; the magnificent and iconic Daguoye Columnar Basalt that features spectacular rock columns, as well as many more attractive tourist hotspots. Travellers should also not miss the opportunity to savour the popular local seafood delicacies and dried snacks that is unique to the island.

With the ship inaugural arrival in Penghu on 11 April 2023, disembarking guests visiting Penghu received a warm welcome ceremony today from the local authorities. In addition, Resorts World Cruises representatives Mr Michael Goh, President and Ms Victoria Hsu, Vice President – Sales (Taiwan), together with Penghu County Mayor Mr. Chen Guang-Fu, Mr. Wang Jinrong, General Manager of Port of Kaohsiung, Taiwan International Ports Corporation and Mr. Ye Xielong, Director of the Maritime Port Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications attended a special event on the ship to celebrate this milestone event.
