Mr Floor Bleeker, Chief Information Officer of Mövenpick Group, spoke to TravelDailyNews Asia-Pacific about all the strategies that the hospitality group follows in order to keep its position as one of the world's best.

As Chief Information Officer and Executive Committee member, Floor is responsible for IT strategy, programme development and implementation across the group. He also oversees the IT shared service organisation covering Mövenpick Group, Mövenpick Marché Restaurants, Mövenpick Fine Food and Mövenpick Wine.

Mövenpick benefits from the nearly two decades of international hospitality technology experience acquired by Floor. He started his career with the Rezidor Hotels & Resorts Group (formerly Radisson Hotels & Resorts).

Prior to joining Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Floor worked with the Jumeirah Group in Dubai, UAE for over 12 years. As Vice President Business Solutions, he was responsible for IT strategy, solutions development, project management, portfolio management, international expansion, IT operations and digital marketing.

The IT team at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts comprises over 120 specialists and has won several regional and international awards. Among those, is the Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG) award for an in-house-developed rapid response platform.

Under Floor’s leadership, Mövenpick is undergoing a major IT transformation including the global roll-out of Oracle’s Opera Cloud, as the first company in the world. In support of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ growing portfolio of upscale hotels, a number of other large IT-enabled programmes are currently being implemented including PMS, CRS, web, distribution, digital guest experience and ERP projects.

Floor holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS), as well as a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration with a Finance specialisation from Hotelschool The Hague. He serves on the board of Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), the world’s leading hospitality technology trade association, and holds several advisory and board positions for other organisations.

Floor lives in Dubai with his wife Anne and daughter Lauren.
