SINGAPORE – Vietjet has launched a new direct route linking Ho Chi Minh City with Sydney as it continues to expand its footprint in Australia, with further expansion plans to Brisbane, Darwin and Adelaide. The new connection marks a milestone in the airline’s international flight network expansion, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.

The flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Sydney will operate from 12 April 2023, with six flights per week. The service schedule is as follows:

  • Every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, flights depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 8:30 pm SGT (7:30 pm ICT) and land in Sydney at 8:20 am SGT (7:20 am ICT)
  • Every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, flights depart from Sydney at 11:15 am SGT (10:15 am ICT) and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 5:30 pm SGT (4:30 pm ICT).

The new service to Sydney complements Vietjet’s very first direct flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne (Tullamarine Airport), which will operate from 8 April 2023, with six flights per week. The service schedule is as follows:

  • Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, flights depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 11:55 am SGT (10:55 am ICT) and land in Melbourne at 11:35 am SGT (10:35 pm ICT)
  • Every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday, flights depart from Melbourne at 1:30 pm SGT (12:30 am ICT) and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 7:30 am SGT (6:30 am ICT).

Vietjet Vice President Nguyen Thanh Son said: “With our state-of-the-art widebody fleet and all-in service packages, Vietjet is poised to expand its international network and boost trade and tourism. Our direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne and Sydney make it easier and more convenient for business, education and tourism between Vietnam and Australia. As Vietjet plans to further expand its network to Brisbane, Darwin and Adelaide, we will bring Australia, Vietnam and the Asia Pacific region closer than ever before. Also, our successful launch of the SkyBoss Business and Deluxe ticket classes has received great support from passengers, and we look forward to offering even more flying opportunities around the world for travellers.”
