TravMedia Asia launches Chinese language capabilities

TravMedia Asia celebrated its first anniversary of dedicated offices in Hong Kong at a function held at the Grand Hyatt. At the event TravMedia’s CEO and Founder Nick Wayland announced the integration of Simplified and Traditional Chinese press releases, enhanced video streaming capabilities and enlarged photo display and hosting.

The international news distribution service (www.travmedia.com/asia) now partners with more than 400 Asian travel companies in a strengthening presence across the Asia Pacific and Greater China.

With growing demand for Chinese content, the online resource centre is now providing press releases in Traditional and Simplified Chinese.

“As a significant number of the 1,200 registered editors/journalists using our site work with the Chinese media, we are now supporting them with Chinese language content,” said Regional Manager Asia, Lauren Michod. “With more Chinese content we are confident of growing the number of TravMedia Asia users considerably.”

By email, it notifies around 1,200 registered editors and journalists in the region of latest daily news from travel companies, organizations and PR agencies worldwide. Bringing TravMedia’s global total to over 11,000 media users.

CEO Nick Wayland used the event as a platform to announce two new global developments with TravMedia including;
– Enhanced video streaming functionality, enabling clients to broadcast events such as press conferences, corporate videos or television commercials alongside their press releases which media can then broadcast on their own websites by simply copying the embed code provided with the video.
– Increased photo display size and labelling which identifies the images Megabytes so media can quickly reference suitable imagery for their stories

At the event TravMedia Asia also announced their partnership with LHK Media as their preferred video production partner in the region to film and produce press conferences and corporate videos that can be streamed on TravMedia. Creative Director Andrew Mossop said on the night

“If you think about the millions that are spent on refurbishing and building new Resorts, for a few thousand dollars more you can deliver the experience to life through film”. With video production and streaming capabilities TravMedia can now provide content to media to broadcast on their websites.
