Sands China scoops ‘Best Hotel Development’ at China Property Awards 2016 for The Parisian Macao

Located on Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao, The Parisian Macao features a full array of integrated resort facilities, including 3,000 guestrooms and suites.

MACAO – Sands China Ltd has been awarded  ‘Best Hotel Development’ for The Parisian Macao at the China Property Awards 2016 held in Hong Kong on Dec. 7, 2016. The Parisian Macao is the integrated resorts’ newest property which opened on Sept. 13 and features a half-size replica of the Eiffel Tower which sits majestically at the hotel’s entrance.

The China Property Awards are part of the Asia Property Award series organised by Asia’s leading online property group, PropertyGuru, and aim to recognise the best of current property developments in China, Hong Kong and Macao.

Since their launch 11 years ago the Asia Property Awards have rewarded the best in real estate utilising a credible and transparent judging process and one of the most detailed and comprehensive entry systems of any property awards in the world.

Following several months of nominations and site visits, an independent panel of judges selected 13 developers from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao to be included in the shortlist.

“We are honoured that our newest resort The Parisian Macao has been recognised for its development and design features. The resort is the vision realised of our Chairman Mr. Sheldon G. Adelson’s master plan for the Cotai Strip, to create a world-class tourism destination for Macao. Led by our President, Dr. Wilfred Wong, our team of designers, architects, construction and engineering professionals, along with the many team members involved in the project, take great pride in receiving this accolade,” commented Mr. Mark McWhinnie, Senior Vice President of Resort Operations and Development, Sands China Ltd, who collected the award on behalf of The Parisian Macao.

Located on Sands Resorts Cotai Strip Macao, The Parisian Macao features a full array of integrated resort facilities, including 3,000 guestrooms and suites, convention and meeting space, international restaurants, kids’ club, health club, pool deck with themed water park, along with a 1,200-seat theatre and entertainment.

Inspired by the magic and wonder of the famed “City of Light”, it was designed to authentically evoke Paris both outside the property, with more than 20 stunning recreations of some of the best-known landmarks in Paris, including the half- scale Eiffel Tower, Porte Cochere, Arc de Triomphe and gardens, fountains, mazes and pools, and inside, with the gilded doors of the Palais Garnier-inspired facade, magnificent lobby Rotunda, grand promenades and bronze Fontaine des Mers.

A highlight of the development, the Eiffel Tower utilises more than 2,800 tonnes of steel, 853,000 decorative rivets, 6,600 lights and 26 kilometres of electrical cabling in its construction.
