China International Travel Service (CITS), the largest tour operator and the undisputed market leader of China, has granted their full support to the Beijing International Travel and Tourism Market.

CITS is ‘the first among 100 top travel companies’ in China and ‘the most outstanding enterprise’, with annual turnover of over 500 million US dollars. In 2002 CITS provided services for a total of 2,509,936 travelers.

“Since its establishment in 1954, CITS has been at the forefront of China’s tourism development”, says Mr. Peter de Jong, President and CEO of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). ”CITS has played a leading role in promoting the benefits of travel and tourism to the government and people of one of the world`s great nations”.

The organisers of the event, the London based international exhibition operator Rising Star Exhibitions and the Beijing Topex Exhibition &Convention Co. Ltd., are thrilled by the support the exhibition has generated in China (PRC).

Alongside CITS, organisations such as the Chamber of Tourism All China, part of the Federation of Industry & Commerce and China Travel News, have all expressed their continued support for BITTM.

The Chamber of Tourism (COT) is a nationwide organization initiated and formed by the private tourist sector of China (PRC). Its members represent one of the strongest networks of airlines, hotel chains and large travel agencies from across the country. As an affiliate to All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the organization truly represents the new diversity of tourism products on offer in China.

The industry professionals in China (PRC) understand the importance of developing the full spectrum of travel and tourism products. The outbound market of China can no longer be ignored and deserves recognition and therefore its own B2B event,” comments Stanislava Blagoeva- Duschell, CEO of Rising Star Exhibitions.

“BITTM was launched and is organised by not only experts in events management, but also recognised travel and tourism professionals both in China and worldwide. I truly believe that BITTM will establish the missing link between international and local companies and will become the ideal platform for participants to showcase their destinations and products to the ever-growing Chinese travel and tourism industry.
