“We are naturally delighted to receive such honours, especially is such a short space of time, said Sofitel So Bangkok General Manager, Gilles Cretallaz  “It’s a wonderful reflection of all the hard work and dedication by our So team, with everyone committed to delivering an exceptional experience geared to today’s urban lifestyle. Also, the awards are a recognition and appreciation of the many unique features that characterize Sofitel So Bangkok, which represents a new generation of urban hotels with an emphasis on innovative design, up-to-the-minute technology and an engaging lifestyle.”

With a prime location on the corner of North Sathorn and Rama IV roads, overlooking Lumpini Park, the 30-storey, 238-room Sofitel So Bangkok is the city’s first truly urban design hotel. In what is a bold statement of art and design created through a one-of-a-kind collaboration between an award-winning Thai architect and five leading local designers, the property draws inspiration from the Five Elements – Water, Earth, Wood, Metal, and Fire – with the first four elements defining the design decor of the guestrooms, while Fire is the theme of the public areas and restaurants. Adding a master’s touch to the design features is the creative brilliance of renowned French couturier Monsieur Christian Lacroix.

Matching design creativity is advanced technology, and Sofitel So Bangkok is Asia’s first hotel to offer a fully connected lifestyle with complete Apple-based digital solutions, including Apple Mac Mini provided in all rooms.

As a celebration of joie de vivre, Sofitel So Bangkok presents a selection of cutting-edge bars and restaurants, most notably Red Oven, with its signature French Molteni oven and variety of live cooking stations; Park Society, a magical dining venue with stunning city views complemented by the exclusive rooftop private cabanas of HI-SO, and Chocolab which offers simply the finest chocolate in town.

Among additional facilities are the 380-sq.m. pillar-less Ballroom,  the creative meeting space of the Social Club, and The Box, a one-of-a-kind venue suspended in mid-air and with three glass walls overlooking the city. The hotel further features two floors of wellness at So FIT and So SPA, while the latest addition to this stylish address is Club Signature, an exclusive lounge offering an experience of the high life.

It all adds up to an iconic Bangkok hotel now receiving due recognition for its stylish innovations.
