SO Sofitel Bangkok celebrates women in honor of Mother’s Day 2017

Highlights include a special set menu at Park Society Restaurant featuring guest chef Hong Thaimee, a female celebrity chef, humanitarian activist, inspirational global guest speaker, and ambassador for Thai food.

Girls may not run the world (yet), but on the occasion of Thai Mother’s Day, SO Sofitel Bangkok is throwing a celebration of all women from 11 – 14 August 2017 in recognition of their character and strength.

Highlights include a special set menu at Park Society Restaurant featuring guest chef Hong Thaimee, a female celebrity chef, humanitarian activist, inspirational global guest speaker, and ambassador for Thai food.

Whether it’s mother, sister, wife, or friend, we all have strong women in our lives who are capable of conquering anything they set out to achieve, all the while remaining our rock of love and comfort. In honor of Mother’s Day and the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen Mother of Thailand, we’re creating opportunities for our guests to enjoy quality time with the women in their lives. In an industry where the dominant gender is male, Chef Hong Thaimee’s international success as one of the world’s top female chefs is particularly impressive, and something we are looking to celebrate,” says Mr. Torsten Richter, General Manager of SO Sofitel Bangkok

Originally hailing from Chiang Mai, Chef Hong is the chef/owner of Ngam in New York City’s East Village (ranked as the Best Thai Food in NYC by The Village Voice in 2013), author of the 2015 cookbook ‘True Thai’, and co-founder of a Connecticut-based catering company with a social purpose.

For the special “East Meets West” Mother’s Day dinner menu available during August 11 – 14 at Park Society, Chef Hong will be joined by Park Society’s Chef Joost Bijster for an 8-course indulgence where Chef Hong (a Thai Chef in New York) will be cooking Eastern dishes and Chef Joost (a Dutch chef in Thailand) will be preparing western dishes.
