Genting Hong Kong honoured twice at 5th Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2015: Best CSR and Best CFO

Organized by Corporate Governance Asia magazine, the Asian Excellence Recognition Awards recognizes excellence in corporate social responsibility, investor communications, business ethics, environmental practices and financial performance.

HONG KONG – Genting Hong Kong, a leading global leisure, entertainment and hospitality corporation, was honoured twice during the 5th Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2015 held on April 10 at the JW Marriott Hotel, Hong Kong.

Genting Hong Kong was recognized as Asia’s Best CSR for a third year after taking home the award in 2012 and 2013 previously while Ms Joyce Tan Wei Tze, Executive Vice President (Financial Services) and Chief Financial Officer, was awarded Asia’s Best CFO (Investor Relations).

Since its inception in 1993, Genting Hong Kong has been committed to giving back to the communities in – and people of – Asia as the company has grown in the region. Over the years, as the company has developed and expanded its businesses and deepened its foothold in Asia, this belief has manifested into a host of community relations efforts, environmental initiatives and scholarships/internships. These activities span across the Asia Pacific and have touched upon the lives of thousands of beneficiaries.

Among the Corporate Social Responsibility highlights from last year, Genting Hong Kong donated NTD 1.5 million to the affected residents of the Kaohsiung gas explosion; jointly organized a charity cruise for underprivileged Hong Kong students through Star Cruises and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau; and, organized a star-studded gala concert, “Do You Hear the People Sing?”, at their Resorts World Manila property to assist the relief effort following Super Typhoon Haiyan.

Recipient of the Asia’s Best CFO (Investor Relations) award, Executive Vice President (Financial Services) and Chief Financial Officer, Joyce Wei Tze Tan, has been with Genting Hong Kong since March 2009. Prior to joining the company, she held various positions in financial advisory, corporate finance, investment banking and asset management institutions in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Malaysia.

Organized by Corporate Governance Asia magazine, the Asian Excellence Recognition Awards recognizes excellence in corporate social responsibility, investor communications, business ethics, environmental practices and financial performance. Award recipients were selected based on scores and interviews with investors, analysts, fund managers, practitioners and board directors.
