ONDA expands PMS lineup to include all property types…from short-term rentals to luxury hotels

ONDA acquired the hotel PMS business unit of a B2B solution provider and made a strategic investment in a Thai-based hospitality technology company

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – ONDA, a South Korean hospitality technology company, has acquired the hotel PMS (Property Management System) business unit of a B2B solutions provider and also made a strategic investment in a Thai hospitality technology company.

Through this acquisition and strategic investment, ONDA has become a global PMS provider covering all property types and is set to accelerate its expansion into global markets including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.

ONDA announced it has formed a subsidiary, OATech, with the acquisition of the hotel PMS business unit of Oasis Story, a Korean-based B2B solutions provider, and made a strategic investment in Hoteliers.Guru, a Thai hospitality technology company.

ONDA has successfully completed a hotel PMS lineup covering all property types including

  • Pension Plus: all-in-one PMS for vacation rentals and villas in domestic market
  • Hoteliers.Guru: holistic PMS for international properties such as independent hotels under 100 rooms, SMB accommodations, bed-and-breakfasts, short-term rentals
  • OA PMS: all-in-one PMS for independent hotels under 300 rooms in domestic market
  • Dive: customizable PMS for international luxury chain hotels and resorts.

ONDA’s hotel PMS can be integrated with its advanced CMS (Channel Management System) solution, Hotel Plus, to provide real-time online room distribution that cannot be expected from a traditional legacy PMS. It enables hoteliers to more efficiently manage their properties, maximize revenue and automate room distribution to more than 45 online channels, according to ONDA.

Oasis Story was founded in 1998, specializing in B2B IT solutions such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), point of sale (POS), and hotel PMS. ONDA acquired its hotel PMS business unit and established a subsidiary OAtech that provides hospitality solutions for small and medium sized hotels. OA PMS and contactless solutions are successfully being used in more than 200 hotels and SMB accommodations.

Founded in 2013, Hoteliers.Guru is a trusted hospitality solutions provider for over 700 local boutique and independent hotels in Southeast Asia. Hoteliers.Guru signed an agreement with ONDA last year to bring its partner hotels and resorts to Korean online sales channels through ONDA HUB. Since then, the two companies have been discussing ideas to build a more advanced partnership, and with this investment, they have become strategic partners in the global hotel digital transformation market.

Hyun-seok Oh, CEO of ONDA said, “Most of our hotel customers can now manage their property digitally with ONDA, from property management to online room distribution and revenue management.” He added, “We will continue to invest in the development of digital transformation technologies for hotels and hoteliers.”

ONDA is a hospitality technology and data company that commands around 70% of the domestic online accommodation booking market. It has built strong partnerships with major global tech companies, including becoming the first Airbnb Preferred Partner and the first Google Hotel partner in Korea.

Last year, ONDA was selected for “The Baby Unicorn Project” by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and was ranked in the Financial Times list, “Asia-Pacific High-Growth Companies” for the second consecutive year in 2022-2023. In Skift’s “Global PMS Vendor” list, a renowned U.S. travel research company, ONDA ranked 34th, becoming the first Korean company to do so. With such significant strides, ONDA is on track to become a leading player in the global hotel tech market.
