TAT has been attending the ITB Asia every year, and this year marked its 15th participation. The Thailand Stand’s opening on 25 October was presided over by Mr. Kitti Chaodi, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mrs. Chonlatee Chanrachakul, Chargé d’Affaires at the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, and TAT executives.

In line with Thailand’s ongoing direction towards more sustainable and inclusive tourism, the Thailand Stand featured decoration items used in previous trade events and new materials that could be reused in future events. The TAT Information Counter focused on providing meaningful travel and sustainable tourism experiences, while the DIY workshops and interactive demonstration activities showcased traditional Thai flags and batik clothing designs.

Mrs. Ruedee Cheawsamoot, Director of the TAT ASEAN, South Asia, and South Pacific Market Division, said “Thailand’s participation at the ITB Asia 2023 proved to be a resounding success. From a survey carried out on sellers at the Thailand Stand, the number of business appointments conducted reached 721 in total with 40 per cent expected to materialise into contracts. The satisfaction rate among the sellers towards the marketing activities at similar B2B tradeshows came in at 82%.”

TAT’s annual presence at ITB Asia is part of the overall marketing efforts in the Singapore market, which is one of the top ten source markets for Thailand.
