Direct flights between UK and Thailand are suspended until October 2022

The best alternative route for British travellers to fly to Thailand is through the Middle East hub airports of Dubai and Doha.

Due to the dramatic drop in demand for travel to Thailand, British Airways decided to suspend all direct flights to the Land of Smiles until October 2022.

Just very recently, Thailand eliminated the obstacles of British travellers to entering the country by allowing fully vaccinated travellers to visit their favourite Thai destination without quarantine. This followed the British Government’s decision to take Thailand off the UK’s Red List.

Despite the above, due to the ongoing increase in Covid-19 cases and the rapid spread of Omikron variant in UK, the demand for long-haul flights to Thailand remained very low which lead the airline to suspend its direct flights.

It’s not just Thailand that has been affected by the low demand in travel. Earlier this month, British Airways announced the cancellation of 2,000 flights until March 2022.
