Accor unveils the Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre, the largest Mercure hotel globally, blending local culture with unmatched hospitality.

SINGAPORE – Accor announced the opening of the largest Mercure hotel, the Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre. Located in the heart of Singapore’s bustling central business district near Chinatown, this new flagship boasts 989 thoughtfully designed rooms, making it a premier destination for both business and leisure travelers.

Local Inspiration Meets Global Standards

The Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre draws heavily on the local culture and vibrancy of its surroundings. Inspired by the colorful façades of nearby Chinatown and the urban essence of its location, the hotel’s design features an expansive lobby adorned with an LED mural and local artworks, including iconic shophouses depicted by Singaporean artist Ripple Root. This design ethos extends throughout the hotel, offering guests a deeply local experience with global hospitality standards.

Culinary Destinations and Lifestyle Amenities

The hotel is set to become a culinary hotspot on Club Street, offering six distinct dining experiences. Highlights include Chara Brasserie with its authentic Mediterranean buffet, Klara Café and Bar in the hotel lobby for fusion dishes, and the debut Singapore location of Naples’ famous L’antica Pizzeria da Michele. Furthermore, La Table d’Emma presents a unique blend of Alsace traditions and classic French cuisine in a communal dining setting.

Additional amenities opening later include Ashino for sushi enthusiasts, Upward Taproom for craft beer lovers, and TAG Espresso for premium local coffee, ensuring that every palate is catered to.

Wellness and Exploration

The Landscape Deck provides an oasis of wellness with a swimming pool and a tranquil wellness deck. A fully equipped gym is available for fitness enthusiasts. Moreover, guests can explore the rich cultural tapestry of Singapore with a complimentary Chinatown Food and Heritage Walking Tour, enhancing their experience of the local culture and culinary delights.

A New Milestone for Accor

Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer of Accor’s Premium, Midscale, and Economy Division in Asia, expressed his enthusiasm: “Singapore continues to captivate visitors with its rich cultural heritage and vibrant energy. Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre, with its locally inspired design, experiences, and culinary offerings, ensures that every stay reflects the character of this dynamic city.
