Boostly gives tens of thousands of Australian holiday rental owners the power to ditch OTA fees

Hosts using Newbook can save up to A$20k a year on hefty commissions.

AUSTRALIA – Tens of thousands of holiday home owners will get the chance to avoid paying pricey commission fees from today by booking guests directly, saving up to A$20,000 a year per rental.

Direct booking disruptor, Boostly, has partnered with property management platform, Newbook, to give more than 50,000 vacation rental owners the power to attract guests without using online travel agents.

It marks the first time that Boostly has teamed up with an Australian property management system (PMS), but this partnership alone could save owners more than A$1bn in charges a year. A PMS is a platform that helps rental owners streamline their operations and secure bookings from a variety of online portals.

Holiday rentals earn an average of A$80,0001 yearly in Australia, but hosts typically pay 15-25% in fees to third-party booking sites. Boostly’s strategic new partnership enables hosts to sync property listings, live booking rates, booking availability, and property information from the Newbook PMS onto a Boostly direct booking website, empowering property owners to reap 100% of their profits.

The global short term rental market has boomed over the last few years, with Australia being no exception. With 251,0002 properties registered as rentals towards the end of 2022, the holiday let sector is crucial in attracting international and domestic tourists to the country. This revolutionary new partnership between Boostly and Queensland-based Newbook will prevent these valuable tourism dollars from leaving the country.

Launched in 2016, Boostly is the only company globally that offers direct booking website design and online training for property owners and managers. The direct booking powerhouse is on a mission to help one million hosts worldwide to reduce their reliance on Airbnb by providing the tools to help hosts and property managers increase their profits through direct booking and reduce their over-reliance on OTAs.

Mark Simpson, Founder of Boostly, commented: “We’re thrilled to bring the Book Direct movement to Australia. Our core mission is to give property managers the tools and confidence to step away from tech giants like Airbnb. Partnering with Newbook was a real no-brainer. Hosts and travellers have become increasingly tired of high fees and, by reclaiming their profits for themselves, property owners can consciously choose to stop diverting billions of dollars a year to third-party booking sites.”
