Asia’s cheapest airports in 2014

Recent research made by the flight search engine WhichAirline.com reveals that Trang (TST) in Thailand ranks as the cheapest airport in Asia. The cost of flights from Trang is on average $0.0487 per kilometre, the second cheapest is Malaysian Kota Kinabalu with $0.0497. Which airports follow and how do the busiest airports in Asia rank?
 

Three of 10 cheapest airports are located in Thailand, four in Malaysia. Airports in the list with the cheapest average price per kilometer are mostly served by low-cost airlines that are dragging the prices down.
 

 

On one hand we have these cheap airports with low cost airlines that are dragging the prices down, however these are not the busiest. So how do 10 busiest airport in Asia stand? The cheapest flights can be found at Kuala Lumpur airport that has average price $0.0640 per kilometer followed by Jakarta with $0.0671 and Guanzhou with $0.0798.
 

Another three airports offer price under $0.1 – Shanghai ($0.0811), Singapore ($0.0826) and Hong Kong ($0.0854). Dubai Airport ranked 7th with $0.1074, followed by Beijing with $0.1314. Bangkok with $0.1974 and Tokyo Haneda with $0.2032 are the most expensive out of 10 busiest airports in Asia.
