Qantas Airways announced that beginning July 18, 2005, the airline will offer an additional non-stop flight between Los Angeles and Brisbane, bringing the total to four weekly non-stop services on the route. In addition to the non-stops, Qantas offers seven weekly one-stop flights to Brisbane via Auckland, totaling 11 weekly flights. The new non-stop flight, which will operate on Mondays, provides travelers with even greater access to Brisbane, the most convenient gateway for U.S. travelers to the Great Barrier Reef and many other destinations in Queensland and beyond. Qantas is the only airline to offer non-stop service on this popular route.

We are pleased that this additional flight to Brisbane from Los Angeles offers passengers more alternatives and convenience as they plan future trips to Australia, said Wally R. Mariani, senior executive vice president, The Americas and Pacific. This new flight is just one of many ways Qantas Airways demonstrates its ongoing commitment to providing business and leisure passengers with more choices and easier access to Queensland and the Gold Coast, the incredible Great Barrier Reef, as well as many other popular attractions, he added.

Beginning July 18, 2005, Qantas will operate non-stop Boeing 747-400 Los Angeles-Brisbane flights each week on Mondays, in addition to its current Wednesday, Friday and Sunday services. QF flight 176 departs from Los Angeles at 11:20 p.m. and arrives in Brisbane at 6:20 a.m., plus two. QF flight 175 departs Brisbane at 11:40 a.m. and arrives in Los Angeles at 7:30 a.m. the same day.
