Pullman announces Australian NFT exhibition supporting emerging and Indigenous female artists

Brisbane based Indigenous artist, Chern’ee Sutton.

Digital E/SCAPES with Pullman comprises 16 NFT artworks, four of which will be revealed at each new location. The NFT works will be on auction during each exhibition via all.accor.com/pullmannft with proceeds split between the artist and their selected local charity.

In a world-wide first for Pullman hotels, Australia will be hosting a travelling and immersive NFT (Non-Fungible Token) art exhibition, titled Digital E/SCAPES by Pullman, featuring four emerging and Indigenous female artists from Australia and overseas.

The digital art exhibition will run from 14 November through to 27 March 2023 launching at Pullman Sydney Hyde Park Sydney next month before it heads to Melbourne (9 Jan), Adelaide (13 Feb) and Brisbane (27 Mar).

Digital E/SCAPES with Pullman comprises 16 NFT artworks, four of which will be revealed at each new location. The NFT works will be on auction during each exhibition via all.accor.com/pullmannft with proceeds split between the artist and their selected local charity.

The colourful life-size exhibition will not only serve as a way to celebrate emerging artists, but is set to become a community destination where people can experience the Artist Playground atmosphere of Pullman properties and learn about NFTs and how they contribute to the metaverse.

Those attending Digital E/SCAPES will discover the inspiration behind the artists’ work, alongside information on the world of NFT’s. Lisa Teh, co-founder of Web3 Agency Mooning, has been working with the Pullman team to develop Digital E/SCAPES and will be providing the hotel teams with training around NFT’s, so they are equipped to discuss the exhibition with guests and exhibition goers.

Brisbane based Indigenous artist, Chern’ee Sutton, will be showcasing her first ever NFT, bringing together art from one of the world’s oldest living cultures and the new age medium of NFT’s. She will exhibit alongside Melbourne fine artist Candy Ng, and the internationally renowned Melissa Vincent, an animated artist from the US, and 2D artist and illustrator Vi Valiukevich, who comes from Belarus. Each of the artworks are inspired by the concept of ‘travelling’ and what that means for each artist. The works will be displayed on LED screens within an interactive lobby exhibit within each hotel.

“Pullman hotels pride themselves on creating a playground for artists, so we are extremely excited to introduce this cutting edge experiential digital exhibition,” said Sarah Derry, CEO for Accor Pacific – operator of Pullman hotels.

“With this exhibition, Pullman aims to work towards bridging the physical and digital environment, redefining how we bring people together to exchange and shape meaningful culture.”

“It’s been exciting to work with the Pullman team on such a ground-breaking project”, commented Lisa Teh. “They are not only one of the first companies globally to enter the new world of Web3, but have utilised the technology to shine a spotlight on, and support, emerging and indigenous female artists.”

Brisbane based Indigenous artist, Chern’ee Sutton, said: “I am very inspired by my Indigenous culture and heritage and want to share that with the rest of the world through my art. I like to combine two worlds of art, my traditional aboriginal heritage and people and unique colours of Australia.”

“Creating digital art allows me to do this from anywhere in the world and I’m excited to share my art in the E/SCAPES by Pullman exhibition and I hope you enjoy my artwork and the messages that they bring.”
