The “Korea Prestige Brand Awards” is hosted by the Korea Economic Daily newspaper with sponsorship from the Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Korea Brand Management Association.

Singapore – Vietjet has won “The Best Service Foreign Low-Cost Carrier” award at the “Korea Prestige Brand Awards 2019”, which was held in Seoul, Korea on 28 March 2019.

On the same day, Vietjet Air also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism – Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism (VNAT) for a cooperative relationship from 2019 to 2021.

The “Korea Prestige Brand Awards” is hosted by the Korea Economic Daily newspaper with sponsorship from the Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Korea Brand Management Association. Established in 2004, the annual awards are organised to select brands that are trusted and favoured by Korean customers through a public survey. Vietjet was chosen for its accessible prices and excellent service.

Vietjet representative, Deputy Director of Commercial, Jay L Lingeswara, said, “This is a great honor for Vietjet as the first foreign airline to be receiving this award during the award’s 15-year history. Currently, we are operating eight routes between Vietnam and Korea and will be launching the ninth route, Nha Trang – Busan in July this year. With a desire to bring exciting flight experiences to Korean customers, our flight crew has many Korean pilots and flight attendants who are friendly and ready to assist local passengers. Moreover, the new and modern Airbus fleet, flexible and reasonable fares and hot and delicious inflight meals are all factors that helped Vietjet to be well received in the Korean market.”

In addition, the MoU is an important foundation for the two parties involved to promote and introduce Vietnam as a destination. The MoU provides travel opportunities to people in Vietnam and international tourists, connecting Vietnam to Vietjet’s destinations within its 39 domestic and 69 international routes. This is also a significant contribution to the implementation of the growth target plan announced by the Prime Minister to welcome around 18 million foreign visitors to Vietnam in 2019.

Some of the collaborations between VNAT and Vietjet in lieu of the MoU include increasing mass media promotions, introducing publications, documents and market researches, organising international tourism fairs and Vietnamese tourism abroad, organising domestic destination surveys and events, among other plans.

Vietjet currently operates safe flights with a technical reliability rate of 99.64% — the highest rate in the Asia Pacific region. As a fully-fledged member of International Air Transport Association (IATA), Vietjet has obtained the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate and has been awarded a 7-star ranking, the world’s highest rate for safety by AirlineRatings.
