Victoria Cruises re-launches five-star Victoria Katarina

After the successful launch of its new Executive Suite program on the Victoria Jenna, Victoria Cruises has completed a multi-million dollar renovation of the five-star Victoria Katarina with the same Executive Suite program which, according to the cruise line, is responsible for a recent surge in bookings from the luxury market. The inaugural journey of the newly renovated Victoria Katarina set sail on April 15, 2010.

In addition to 32 new Executive Suites, Victoria Cruises has added a separate a la carte dining room as well as a private observation area for guests staying in the lavish suite accommodations. An elevator has also been installed for added convenience.

“All travelers enjoy preferential treatment, but for upscale guests it is an absolute necessity,” said Larry Greenman, manager of public relations and customer service for Victoria Cruises. “While the coveted, five-star rating the China National Tourism Administration has awarded seven of our ships is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a cruise vessel in China, we like to think of our Executive Suite program as the sixth star – surpassing all expectations for the most elegant river cruise experience imaginable,” added Greenman.

Victoria Cruises’ Executive Suites feature concierge service and spacious suite accommodations with private balcony, as well as use of an exclusive VIP lounge area and private, a la carte restaurant.

The Victoria Katarina is now the third five-star Victoria Cruises vessel to feature the Executive Suite program, along with the Victoria Anna and brand new Victoria Jenna.

“Renovations on the Victoria Anna were relatively simple as the ship already featured an a la carte dining room, and of course, the Victoria Jenna was built with the Executive Suite program in mind,” noted Greenman. “The Victoria Katarina, on the other hand, required extensive renovations in order to prepare the vessel for the new program.  Essentially, some of its decks have been gutted and are entirely new on the inside,” he remarked.

The Victoria Katarina now features 32 Executive Suites in addition to two Shangri-La Suites and 98 Superior Staterooms for a combined total of 132 staterooms and a passenger capacity of 264 guests.
