Tour Operators from Middle East see a boom in demand to Turkey. The participants of a fam trip organised in May said that due to SARS epidemic the travellers from ME divert to Turkey instead of Asia Pacific destinations.
The increase in demand is also attributed to the relatively easier frontier formalities and procedures to Turkey after 11th September, and short flying distance from these markets.
The fam trip was organized by Mercan Tourism, which is a Turkish travel agency active in ME markets. The Participants were tour operators and media represantatives from the region. The Emirates Holidays from Dubai, Manama Tours from Bahrain and Transtour from Syria are among the participants.
