The Philippines gears up for international association meetings

To further accommodate the associations segment, major developments of world-class meeting facilities will be expanded across the country.

The Philippines is once again chosen as the preferred destination for upcoming key association conferences with subjects ranging from medical, geology to real estate. Now looking ahead, the country is all set to welcome many more international meetings;

In continuation to successfully hosting more than 90 international association meetings since 2016, as recorded by ICCA, all confirmed international and regional conferences show confidence for Philippines in bridging the gap with local associations. This collaborative effort highlighted not only Philippine’s capacity to successful address the importance of a conference but also forging business relationships with association executives as it is in line with the country’s growth in the meetings industry.

To further accommodate the associations segment, major developments of world-class meeting facilities will be expanded across the country. According to report by TOPHOTELPROJECTS, more than 10,000 rooms for 37 hotels projects are to be constructed in the next five years. In 2019, two SMX Convention Centers will open in Cebu and Clark, while several hotel groups will continue to develop their properties all over Philippines.

As one of the leading Southeast destinations, Philippines also caters to the need of other industries with ease, having hosted a series of meetings during the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in 2017.
