Following its soft opening last October, the Continent Hotel celebrated its official launch on February 8. The group looks at positioning itself as a fashion-minded boutique hotel.

BANGKOK – Thai models, celebrities and VIP guests met on February 8 for an evening of glamour with the launch of Bangkok’s newest property, the Continent Hotel. All was done in the spirit of The Continent Hotel’s tribute to the world of fashion, design and music, in attendance will be dazzling models introducing the latest fashion wear from the world’s top fashion houses.

The Continent Hotel is the latest lifestyle hotel to enter the heart of Bangkok. A hotel of the world, enjoy one of 153 hotel rooms and suites in this state-of-the-art skyscraper. The entire hotel was carefully planned and stylishly decorated, such as the medieval styled wrought iron porte cochere, the desert inspired Medinii, the water playground H20 with its Greek Island influence, and themed designs of rooms, suites and amenities. “The hotel is a tribute to the world with each floor evocating a continent and its beauties. Thanks to our central location on Asok/Sukhumvit, our niche market target of affluent trendy urbanites, we are looking at achieving 80% occupancy with an average room rate of THB 3,000 [US$100]”, explained during a presentation Wilawan Brenig, Assistant Director of Sales.

“We do not want to discount and play a price war despite the strong competition. We are looking particularly to the corporate market as we are part of Compass Hospitality with a large portfolio of hotels”, she added.

Compass Hospitality is a company registered in Hong Kong with hotels in Thailand, Malaysia (5 properties) and Singapore (1 property) as well as with projects in Sri Lanka. In Bangkok, Compass Hospitality has 26 properties. The group has also hotels in Pattaya, Hua Hin and Samui.
