Tee off in the ‘Undiscovered golf destination of the year’ with Vietjet

Vietnam is now even more accessible for the avid golfer who wants to indulge both on and off the course.

Within easy reach from Singapore via VietJet, Vietnam is now even more accessible for the avid golfer who wants to indulge both on and off the course. Only a short onward flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, you will find yourself at the doorstep of Vietnam’s top golfing hotspot – the breath-taking Central Coast. Located only a stone’s throw from Da Nang International Airport, some of these top resorts can be reached easily within 15 minutes by car, meaning less time travelling and more time scoping the courses. On par with top notch resorts, the courses here have been designed by some of the masters in the industry who capitalise on the staggering landscapes to offer a truly scenic golfing experience. Montgomerie Links
Voted Vietnam’s best golf course in both 2010 and 2011 and more recently rated as one of Asia’s ten most elite courses by the 2012 Forbes Travel Guide, this 7100-yard, par-72 championship course has been designed by Colin ‘Monty’ Montgomerie himself, captain of the 2010 European Ryder Cup team and eight-time European Tour Order of Merit winner. True to his reputation, you can expect nothing but top quality from these 18 expertly manicured holes. In addition Montgomerie Links is equipped with a modern, fully equipped 30 bay covered driving range and a premium clubhouse. Here you can sit and take in the stunning views of the entire course and a wide vista of the awe-inspiring Marble Mountains whilst savouring a hard earned drink.

Laguna Lang Co Golf Club
Having only opened in November 2012, Laguna Lang is the latest addition to the region’s golfing repertoire.  Located near Lang Co Bay and nestled between the ancient city of Hue and Da Nang, the course is designed by the famous Sir Nick Faldo. The golf club can be found within the heart of the Laguna Lang Co Resort a luxury development compromising of the Banyan Tree Lang Co and Angsana Lang Co Resort Hotels. The par-71 course is positioned to lure the eye to a backdrop of mountains and rugged coastline. Premium facilities include a pro shop, driving range and extensive practice areas.

Da Nang Golf Course
Designed by Greg Norman and commonly known as “The Shark”, this remarkable dunes course was winner of The Best New Course in 2010 at the Asia Pacific Golf Summit. Additionally, in the same, Golf Magazine USA referred to the Da Nang Golf Course as one of the top 15 courses to open worldwide. From 2011 to 2013, Da Nang Golf Course was voted by the readers of Asian Golf Monthly as the best golf course in Asia. After perfecting your technique on the driving range, head to the clubhouse which boasts first class service, and a restaurant that cooks up some of the finest food Vietnam has to offer.

VietJet operates seven round trip flights between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City per week with a duration of 1 hour and 50 minutes. The flight departs Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 8.45am (local time) and Changi International Airport at 12.40pm (local time) daily. You can easily connect to Da Nang as the airline offers seven to eight round trips daily from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, with a flight duration of 1 hour 15 minutes. Flights depart Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 6.20am, 7.15am, 10.40am, 2.35pm, 3.00pm, 7.00pm 8.35pm and 9.05pm (local time). From Da Nang, return flights are at 6.35am, 8.10am, 9.10am, 12.15pm, 4.25pm, 4.40pm and 8.35pm (local time). From the airport, all three golf resorts are within easy driving reach.
