Skyscanner reveals the top ten places for a naked holiday

With news of airlines raising their baggage charges this summer by as much as £40 per flight, many holidaymakers are considering anything they can do to beat the baggage charge; enter the “Nakation”. Naked sauna – Kotiharju, Helsinki, Finland
Finns have long enjoyed getting hot and naked with their friends and the country boasts an average of one sauna for every household. Steam yourself silly in The Kotiharju Sauna, the only remaining sauna in Helsinki which is still powered by a wood-burning stove.

Naked golf –La Jenny, France
La Jenny naturist resort in South West France offers Europe’s only naked golf course, and features six holes spread over nine hectaresas well as an indoor and outdoor driving range.

Naked village – Costa Natura, Spain
This cosmopolitan village on the Costal Del Sol has nearly 200 apartments and was the first naturist settlement in Spain. Nude enthusiasts can enjoy Costa Natura’s facilities which include a heated swimming pool, volleyball court, tropical gardens and nudist beach.

Naked festival – Okayama, Japan
Every year in the town of Okayama, 9000 scantily clad men take to the streets to celebrate Hadaka Matsuri – Naked Festival. An important Shinto tradition, the event has become popular with tourists who also join the locals dressed only in loin cloths.

Naked scuba diving – Fiji
Buff Divers is a company that offers ‘clothing optional’ scuba at sites all around the world, including the tropical climes of Fiji.Naked divers will need to watch out for stinging creatures, spiky sea urchins and stray conger eels.

Naked hiking – Harz Mountains, Germany
In Germany’s Harz Mountains, an 18km naked trial opened to nudist walkers in May so fans of hiking as nature intended can jump on a flight to Berlin to join the clothes-free fun or “Nacktwanderen” for themselves.

Naked sailing – Croatia
There are a total of 1,185 islands which lie off the coast of Croatia, many of which are very secluded, making them a popular spot for nudist sailing trips.You can even book yourself a berth on of the large sailboats that offer nude cruises.

Naked fishing – Lake Tekapo, New Zealand
If you’re angling for a fishing trip with a difference, try a fully instructed naked fishing expedition at Lake Tekapo Holiday Park on New Zealand’s South Island. A rod and some tackle are essential.

The centrepiece of the annual ‘Naked Weekend’ celebrations on Valentine’s Day weekend in Nanaimo is a naked tandem bungy jump, where lovers strip off and leap over 140 feet together above the ice-cold water below.

The famous naked skiing contest in Crested Butte, Colorado may have stopped, but you can still get your naked snow sports fix in Obertraun, Austria, which offers the world’s first naked cross-country skiing route in a sheltered valley 1,700m above sea level.
