Sarawak wows Sydney with “7 Wonders of Borneo”

The event was held as part of the Sarawak Convention Bureau's (SCB) “7 Wonders of Borneo” campaign that aims to showcase the best of Borneo and maintain Sarawak's presence in the industry and media following the Bureau's decision of not attending trade shows for 2015.

SYDNEY – For one night only, Sarawak industry members brought together over 40 potential corporate incentive clients for an interactive “Borneo Talk” programme at the Hilton Sydney. The event was held as part of the Sarawak Convention Bureau‘s (SCB) “7 Wonders of Borneo” campaign that aims to showcase the best of Borneo and maintain Sarawak’s presence in the industry and media following the Bureau’s decision of not attending trade shows for 2015.

Leading the delegation to Sydney from Sarawak was Ms Amelia Roziman, Sarawak Convention Bureau’s (SCB) Global Marketing & Communications Director, Ms Anedia Kahar, SCB’s Business Development Manager, Mr Oscar Choo of CPH Travel and Ms Mok Venia of Cat City Holidays; in collaboration with SCB’s appointed Australia representative Dr Caroline Hong.

Dr Caroline Hong commented, “Through the Borneo Talk programme, we want to take this opportunity to introduce Sarawak as a potential business events destination while highlighting two industry partners as preferred suppliers for the Australian market. Part of our strategy in capturing the Australian market is to really get them involved in the programme. If we can’t immediately bring them to Sarawak, we bring Sarawak to Australia.

Ms Amelia Roziman commented, “Sarawak is a wonderful destination for corporate incentives and I hope that Australians will be eager to venture to Borneo for this once in a lifetime experience. We started the “7 Wonders of Borneo” campaign to highlight the best of what Borneo has to offer, and tonight, our guests will be able to experience it. We hope that this will excite our guests and make them want to bring their events to Sarawak.

Do take advantage of what we have to offer, in terms of the destination’s offerings and also SCB’s services to ensure your business event objectives are achieved. Our industry members are more than willing to assist and ready to design your own ‘7 Wonders of Borneo’ experience,” she added.
