Sapporo gets non-stop flights to Southeast Asia with Thai Airways

Thai Airways International will launch flights between Bangkok and Sapporo International Airport in winter schedule 2012-2013, bringing the first direct connection for the Hokkaido capital to Southeast Asia.

BANGKOK – Sapporo route will be Thai Airways International sixth destination in Japan, next to Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.

Thailand is very popular destination for people in Hokkaido especially the hard winter days. But the destination might become a hit also for Thai people looking to enjoy the snowy pleasure of Hokkaido during the same period of the year and participate of the famous Sapporo Snow Festival hosted every year in February. 

As Thailand and Hokkaido are very attractive travel destination for each other, the commencement of the direct service draws a great deal of attention in both countries.  Besides, local businesses in the two counties have high expectations for it to produce economic effects. THAI executive vice president of commercial, Pandit Chanapai, indicates that flights will start from the end of October offering three weekly services in an Airbus A330-300. The new service is a result of the airline adjusting its marketing plans to increase travel convenience for passengers bound for Japan.

From 30 December 2012 THAI will operate four flights per week. THAI currently flies to five destinations in Japan: With the direct operation between the two cities, travel from Hokkaido to Thailand will also be much easier and smoother for other passengers served by TG comprehensive international network.

Commemorating with the new service, TG comes up with a promotional fare “TG Super Deal Sapporo”, which is only applied from 31OCT’12 to 20DEC’12 on departure basis as follows.
