Qatar Airways’ Singapore-Doha route operated exclusively by the A350 with upgrade of third aircraft

Qatar Airways now provides an all-A350 triple-daily service to-and-from Singapore with world’s newest aircraft.

SINGAPORE – Qatar Airways, the global launch customer of the A350, is now servicing Singapore exclusively with a triple-daily A350 service. The airline upgraded its third frequency with the world’s newest aircraft from 1 August 2015, marking another significant milestone for the recently crowned Airline of the Year.

Joan Wang, country manager for Qatar Airways Singapore, said: “We are delighted to be the first and only airline to operate three daily A350 flights out of Singapore. Singapore is a highly competitive market and we are very pleased to be able to showcase our most advanced aircraft to our Singapore-based passengers. The A350 has had a great start in Singapore, with excellent passenger feedback and we look forward to welcoming even more Singapore-based passengers on board all three of our A350 aircraft serving this popular route.

The Doha-based carrier commenced the additional third-daily flight from June 1, 2015, as part of its global expansion and in response to the strong demand in the Singapore market.

With the combination of the third-daily flight and the complete conversion of aircraft serving the route to the A350, Qatar Airways has seen a substantial capacity increase on the route. The A350 service between Doha and Singapore, traditionally a strong premium market, has also provided a boost to the Business Class capacity – from 22 seats per flight to 36.

The commencement of the third-daily flight has also boosted connectivity to North America for Qatar Airways’ passengers, with the transit time in Doha being reduced to around three hours for passengers travelling onward or back from North America.

On May 11, 2015, Qatar Airways became the first airline to operate the A350 to Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.

With the A350, all 283 passengers can be assured of unprecedented levels of comfort across all classes when travelling via Doha and onwards to key destinations in Europe and the Americas.

Qatar Airways’ A350s feature 36 seats in Business Class in a 1-2-1 configuration, featuring 80” inch fully flat horizontal beds, and a 247 seating capacity in Economy Class in a 3-3-3 layout. All seats in Business Class have direct aisle access with 17” HD in-flight entertainment screens. Economy Class features 10.6” in-flight entertainment screens and more space for passengers in window seats, thanks to a vertical side wall panel design.

Passengers can also enjoy up to 2,000 movies, games and audio entertainment options on Qatar Airways’ newly updated entertainment system, “Oryx One” – available in both Business and Economy classes. The world’s newest wide-body aircraft also offers advanced air conditioning technology and LED mood lighting to enhance the comfort of passengers while reducing fatigue after a long flight, as well as in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity for all passengers allowing them to surf the web on the go.

One of the fastest growing airlines in the world, Qatar Airways has experienced rapid growth in just 18 years of operation. Today it flies a modern fleet of 162 aircraft to 151 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
