Novotel Bandung opened in the west Java city of Bandung. The Novotel Bandung targets a new generation of young Asian travellers, both domestic and regional. Bandung is becoming increasingly popular with meeting and incentive planners attracted by its colonial architecture and numerous handicraft and shopping options. The hotel ballroom can accommodate up to 600 people supported by 6 additional meeting rooms.

Accor currently operates 34 hotels in Indonesia – making it the largest international hotel management company in the country. The group has not only continued its high profile presence in the Indonesian travel industry, but has also increased its community development projects while substantially growing its hotel network around the country over the last few years.

Three new Novotel hotels and two Mercure hotels are scheduled to open in the next coming months. These include Novotel Balikpapan (October 2006), Novotel Tarakan (Mid 2007), Mercure Surabaya, Mercure Manado and Novotel Nusa Dua in Bali (early 2007).

The additions of Bandung, Balikpapan,Nusa Dua and Tarakan will expand the Novotel network to 16 hotels across Indonesia by the end of 2006, making Novotel the largest single international hotel brand represented in the country.
