NokScoot’s maiden flight to Osaka takes off

NokScoot's Osaka first flight

The launch culminated preparations over the past several months for the introduction of four weekly services from Don Mueang to Kansai International Airport.

Bangkok, Thailand – NokScoot’s maiden flight to Osaka got off the ground smoothly just before Sunday midnight marked by a Japanese-themed send-off at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport.

Passengers were greeted by Sumo wrestler characters and female crew clad in Kimono at the check-in counters. Cabin attendants on the inaugural flight also dressed in Kimono to keep the Japanese atmosphere running on board. “We want to make our Osaka launch a memorable one as it is a major milestone in NokScoot’s history,” said NokScoot CEO Yodchai Sudhidhanakul.

Today’s launch culminated preparations over the past several months for the introduction of four weekly services from Don Mueang to Kansai International Airport. Osaka is NokScoot’s second port of call in Japan after Tokyo which it started serving from Don Mueang on June 1 this year through the Narita International Airport on a daily basis.

The launch of NokScoot’s Osaka service forms part of its strategy to expand its footprint over Thailand-Japan skies which are witnessing a rapid growth in traffic demand both ways.

NokScoot, one of Thailand’s leading medium-to-long-haul budget airlines, operates the Boeing 777-200 wide-body jet, configured with 415seats — 24 in premium class and 391 in economy – on its Bangkok-Osaka route.
