NokScoot soars to new heights for on time performance in 2018

Airline achieves over 95% OTP in 2018 fueled by its exceptional results in December

Bangkok, Thailand – NokScoot, the joint venture low-cost carrier of Thailand’s Nok Air and Singapore’s Scoot, soared to new heights for on time performance (OTP) during 2018, topped off with a best performance in December 2018 when OTP reached 95.45% on 330 flights during the month.

NokScoot’s system wide OTP for all of 2018 showed the airline achieved an impressive overall OTP of 84.73% for a total of 3,789 flight segments.

During the last three months of 2018 NokScoot recorded OTP of 95.14% in October, 96.24% in November and 95.45% OTP in December. Top three destinations by OTP performance and flight sector were Osaka (KIX) with 100% OTP for 2018, Narita (NRT) 96.30% and Taipei (TPE) with 89.58% OTP. The aviation industry defines OTP as flights that arrive or depart within 15 minutes of their scheduled times.

“On time performance is key to success in the aviation industry as our passengers depends on NokScoot to depart and arrive on time,” said NokScoot CEO Yodchai Sudhidhanakul said. “NokScoot is committed to maintain the highest standards for on time performance with every flight for the safety and convenience of our customers.”

“NokScoot is determined to continue to improve its punctuality on all flights, both on existing routes and when we launch new flights in the future,” Yodchai, added.

NokScoot uses Boeing 777-200 wide-bodied twin-aisle jets, configured with a total of 415 seats, to and from its hub at Bangkok’s Don Muang International Airport. The aircraft is bigger than those traditionally used by low cost carriers and offers an unprecedented level of comfort, with 24 seats in ScootBiz and 391 seats in Economy, supported by great fares for its valued customers.

NokScoot currently flies from Bangkok to Shanghai, Nanjing, Qingdao, Shenyang, Tianjin and Xi’an in China. In addition to its China route network, NokScoot also flies to Taipei in Taiwan, Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, and New Delhi in India. More flights to India, Japan, and South Korea are also set to be launched later this year.
