Mickey Mouse takes center stage this New Year’s Eve as Hong Kong Disneyland transforms into the city’s largest outdoor dance floor. It’s New Year’s Eve in Hong Kong as never celebrated before!

Hong Kong Disneyland is on course to rock the city with Park festivities and highlights signaling it as THE place to be for a truly memorable countdown party for guests of all ages and particularly young adults.

With all entertainment included in the regular price of admission, guests can experience a live 20-piece Big Band set against the backdrop of an illuminated Sleeping Beauty Castle while DJs spin the latest tracks in Tomorrowland.

“Hong Kong Disneyland will offer a multi-sensory experience where everything that makes a great party – music, dancing, food, shopping and Disney-style attractions – is all in one fantastic venue. The Park is enchanting by night and with the extended hours, New Year’s Eve at Hong Kong Disneyland is set to be the party of the year!” said Laurie Jordan, Vice President, Entertainment, Hong Kong Disneyland.

The attractions, dining outlets and merchandise stores will extend their operating hours for guests’ dining and shopping enjoyment on New Year’s Eve. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Line will also extend its operation hours until 3am on that day.

Guests will also enjoy the rare opportunity to enjoy late night encounters with some of their favorite Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and others – dressed in their best safari suits – in Adventureland until 11:30 pm.

Party hats and favors will be presented to each guest attending Hong Kong’s most magical New Year’s Eve spectacular, further adding to the colorful and festive party atmosphere in the Park as the countdown to the New Year approaches.

Minutes prior to the stroke of midnight, Mickey Mouse in his dapper tuxedo will take center stage and launch into a Disney-style rendition of “Luck Be a Lady Tonight” as the clock ticks away in the lead up to the 2007 countdown.

At the stroke of midnight, lights will dim at Main Street USA as Mickey raises his conductor’s baton signaling the last moments of 2006 and the countdown to New Year 2007.

Following the Countdown, a dazzling pyrotechnic display will paint the night sky above Main Street USA and Tomorrowland in a magical blaze of color as it signals the arrival of 2007. The traditional New Year’s Eve theme song, Auld Lang Syne, will play throughout the Park as guests sing along.

Throughout this evening of dancing and celebration, guests can also indulge in a wide range of holiday season snacks and refreshments at outlets conveniently located both throughout the Park and at the two Disney hotels.

Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney`s Hollywood Hotel

New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel will feature performances by a band and singer at the Grand Salon, together with the traditional midnight countdown with guests to welcome in 2007.

Disney’s Hollywood Hotel will be filled with disco music as party revelers dance the night away in the run-up to the magical midnight countdown.

A special New Year’s Eve menu priced will be a highlight of the celebrations at the Grand Salon and will feature Foie Gras with Truffle, Celeriac and Fennel Salad on Brioche Toast, Lobster Bisque with Brandy Foam and Herb, Pan-fried Sea Bass on a bed of Creamy Leek Champagne Sauce or Roast Rib Eye of Beef with Red Wine Gravy and Horseradish Cream as the main course. Dark and Milk Chocolate Truffle Cake served with Kumquat Compote and Fresh Cream, and Petit Fours will present a sweet end to the meal. The menu will also include a glass of champagne to toast the arrival of the New Year.

Additional Hong Kong Disneyland New Year’s Eve dining highlights include a Special Chinese Set Menu at The Crystal Lotus and “Traditional Christmas Buffet” at the Enchanted Garden Restaurant at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, “Christmas Carol Buffet” at Chef Mickey Restaurant and “Christmas Dinner Set Menu” at the Studio Lounge at Disney`s Hollywood Hotel.
