Hard Rock Hotels soon to rock Shenzhen and Haikou

Hard Rock International and Mission Hills Group Announce Hard Rock Hotels in Shenzhen and Haikou, China.

ORLANDO- Hard Rock International – with hotel locations from Bali and San Diego to Singapore and Macau – announces two new Hard Rock Hotels in Shenzhen and Haikou, targeted to open in 2015 in collaboration with Mission Hills Group, the world’s leading golf brand and driving force behind China’s sports and leisure industry. The 280-room Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen and 250-room Hard Rock Hotel Haikou will feature Hard Rock’s famed rock ‘n’ roll design elements, as well as guest amenities inspired by its music roots, while seamlessly fusing with the stylistic elements of Mission Hills and the surrounding landscape.

“The expansion of Hard Rock Hotels into China is a momentous event,” said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO of Hard Rock International. “We couldn’t ask for a better partner than Mission Hills and are excited to share Hard Rock Hotel’s unique style and attitude with a Chinese population thirsting for new entertainment experiences.”

Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen, at 22-stories tall and covering nearly 10 acres, will feature a fitness centre, signature restaurants, entertainment lounge, recording studio, nightclub and more, in addition to a top floor solely comprised of luxurious suites. Hard Rock Hotel Haikou, encompassing more than eight acres, will be located in the carbon-friendly Town Centre development on tropical Hainan Island, and will complement the resort’s world-class golf, shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural elements.

“The addition of the iconic Hard Rock brand is further evidence of Mission Hills’ powerful international reach,” says Dr. Ken Chu, chairman of Mission Hills Group. “As China’s only hotel embracing and implementing music throughout the guest experience, they will be a welcome addition to our unmatched selection of recreation options in Shenzhen and Haikou.”

Other attractions at Shenzhen’s Mission Hills Centreville, covering nearly 125 acres, will include internationally renowned hotels, a luxury spa, an auto exhibition centre, a 1,000-seat Orange Sky Golden Harvest cinema, a Brunswick bowling centre, an ice skating rink, an eXcape simulation racing centre and more.

Conveniently located on the Pearl River Delta and within a one-hour drive of Shenzhen, Mission Hills Centreville, guests also enjoy convenient access to major expressways, drastically reducing travel time between Mission Hills and downtown Shenzhen, Dongguan and Hong Kong. With the ‘World’s Largest Golf Club’ at its core, Mission Hills is the landmark of Shenzhen. The commercial potentialities of both Shenzhen and Dongguan will be immensely enhanced with the addition of Mission Hills Centreville.

Hard Rock International is present in 54 countries, including 140 cafes and 18 Hotels/Casinos. Hard Rock Hotels/Casinos are located in Asia in Pattaya, Bali, Macau, Penang and Singapore.  Additional hotel and casino projects planned to open include Riviera Maya in 2013 and Abu Dhabi in 2014.

Founded in 1992, Mission Hills is recognized as a leading golf brand in the world and synonymous with high-end, luxurious residences. Mission Hills has been the major driving force behind the sports and leisure industry in China. Its three world-class integrated leisure and wellness resort destinations have hosted more than 100 international tournaments. The Group’s “golf and more” leisure philosophy has catalyzed its tourism-related business expansion, including trendy restaurants, cafes and bars; state-of-the-art multiplex cinemas as well as a total of six hotels, among them Marriott International’s Ritz-Carlton and Renaissance hotel brands and Hilton International.
