Gullivers Travel Associates (GTA), wholesalers of ground travel products and services, and a subsidiary of Travelport Inc., has been appointed the official Ticketing Agency for the 2006 Shanghai Tennis Masters Cup, by New Sports and Entertainment (Shanghai) Ltd. (NSE), the event promoter.

The Tennis Masters Cup, the culminating event of the men`s professional tournament season, will return to Shanghai again this year and will be held at the new Qi Zhong Tennis Center from 12 to 19 November 2006. The top eight players and top eight doubles teams at the end of the year will compete in a round-robin format for US$4.45 million in prize money and the chance to end the year as World No. 1. Many world-class players are scheduled to participate at this year’s Shanghai event, including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick.

The promoter, NSE, has appointed GTA as the Ticketing Agency for the Asia Pacific region, which includes the countries of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Japan, Korea and Australia.

Under the terms of the agreement, NSE will reserve tickets of different categories each day of the event for GTA booking. As the ticket distribution partner to travel agents of Tennis Master Cup 2006, GTA will then introduce tailor-made Tournament Master Club packages for overseas customers who can visit Shanghai and attend not only the tennis matches, but also take city tours.

“As the ticket distribution partner to Travel Agent of the Tennis Masters Cup 2006, GTA is honoured to introduce our tailored packages,” said Dan Wacksman, Regional Director for GTA Asia. “Visitors need only provide GTA with ticket and other service preferences and we do the rest, saving them time and money. He also added “Given GTA’s recent entry into China, our appointment as the Ticket Distribution Partner to Travel Agent is a good opportunity to strengthen the relationships with strong local business partners and be exposed to more joint marketing opportunities while enhancing our exposure in China”.

Michael Gu, Director of Business Development, NSE, is excited about the link-up with GTA due to its extensive sales network. “In order for NSE to generate more business from Asia Pacific markets, it`s good for us to partner with a strong company such as GTA with it presence not only in this region, but in other overseas markets as well,” Stated Gu.
