Five networking events for attractions industry professionals planned at Asian Attractions Expo 2017

AAE 2017 is the Asia-Pacific region's premier international business event for attractions industry professionals, and takes place at The Sands Expo and Convention Center 13-16 June at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) 2017 attendees can participate in five different networking opportunities, including the Opening Night Reception, Lunch and Learn, Singapore Zoo guided EDUTour, the Young Professionals Reception, and the EDUTour to Mega Adventure Singapore. The events provide a relaxed atmosphere to connect or reconnect with international attractions professionals from C-level executives to managers and newcomers to the industry.

AAE 2017 is the Asia-Pacific region’s premier international business event for attractions industry professionals, and takes place at The Sands Expo and Convention Center 13-16 June at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) owns and produces AAE annually in different cities throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Opening Night Reception: Wednesday, 14 June, 18:30 – 22:00
Expo participants can mingle with industry peers from around the globe in a relaxed atmosphere at Universal Studios Singapore. The opening night event includes a cocktail reception and exclusive access to 10 select rides throughout the park. Rides include: “Transformers The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle”, “Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cylon,” “Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure,” and the park’s latest attraction, “Puss in Boots’ Giant Journey.” The Opening Night Reception is sponsored by accesso and JRA. Transportation will be provided to the Opening Night Reception from The Sands Expo and Convention Center.

Lunch and Learn: Thursday, 15 June, 12:30 – 14:00
Brands: Using Intellectual Properties and Maintaining Show Quality
Attendees will learn about the power of integrating intellectual properties (IP) into their attractions at this educational networking lunch. Speakers will address the trend of new media companies and consumer product brand owners expanding into location-based entertainment (LBE) and focusing on the growing Asia-Pacific attractions market. Learn how LBE thought leaders prepare their properties for Asia, protect their IPs through the design, construction, and installation processes, and deploy strategies to keep the projects pristine and on-story for the long haul.
The Lunch and Learn is held in the IAAPA Theatre, Level L3, Cassia Ballroom.

EDUTour: Singapore Zoo: Thursday, 15 June, 17:00 – 19:00
Attendees can take a guided educational tour of world-famous Singapore Zoo and learn how the zoology team manages its Fragile Forest, a massive rain forest bio-dome, which is home to lemurs, flying foxes, and lories. The EDUTour also includes a firsthand look at the Wildlife Healthcare & Research Centre and the Wildlife Nutrition Centre that service the zoo’s 11,000 animals. Transportation to and from Singapore Zoo will be provided.

Young Professionals Reception: Thursday, 15 June, Reception 18:30 – 20:00
The Young Professionals Reception is a must-attend evening for AAE 2017 participants ages 18-35. Whether you are a student or a full-time industry professional, the reception allows participants the opportunity to gather together to exchange ideas with peers and interact with invited seasoned industry leaders in a casual setting. The event is held at the DC Comics Super Hero Cafe at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and is only open to attendees under age 35.

EDUTour: Mega Adventure Singapore: Friday, 16 June, 7:30 – 10:00
Attendees can learn how a group of experienced adventurers built and operate a series of high-flying attractions on Sentosa Island, while nurturing the surrounding environment of the Imbiah Hilltops. The tour also provides a behind-the-scenes look at how the Mega Adventure staff use technology to enhance their safety protocols and operational checks that are vital to the company’s success. Transportation to and from Mega Adventure Singapore will be provided.
