Club Med adds a range of new facilities at its Cherating Beach Resort

Club Med has unveiled the latest of its up-scale inventory, with major additions to its Cherating Beach Resort, all due for completion in September2012.

CHERATING – Club Med in Cherating is completing the renovation of its beach resort by adding new facilities. The upgrade includes a Zen Space with a Quiet Pool; Baby Club; and the first Club Med Noodle Bar. They give a breath of new life to the seaside Resort, tucked in the heart of the Malaysian jungle.

Club Med Cherating Beach, located on Malaysia’s East Coast (1 hour flight from Kuala Lumpur) is a natural paradise of 80 hectares of natural beauty, abundant wildlife, exciting activities and the opportunity to relax in a natural environment.

Club Med isn’t just about activities and adventures – it also has a Zen side that embraces relaxing, well-being and romance. Following the success of dedicated relaxation areas at Club Med Phuket and Bali, Club Med Cherating Beach has also created a Zen Space – exclusively dedicated to adults- on a gorgeous natural peninsula that juts into the South China Sea.

The pristine peninsula surrounded by gently lapping ocean waters incorporates a Quiet Pool facing then beachfront that is ideal for peaceful relaxation, reading and paddling. Guests can lounge in cabanas and enjoy bar service and light snacks by the pool. Adjoining the Zen Space, Le Rembulan restaurant is opened for lunch and dinner in a relaxed beachside setting.

Following the successful launch of Baby Club in Phuket, Club Med opens a Baby Club at Cherating Beach, taking care of little ones aged between 4 and 23 months. Based on the concept of ‘Happy Nature’, the new Baby Club at Cherating Beach is professionally staffed and expertly designed with materials and facilities that appeal to babies’ five senses. Little ones enjoy a program that is specially tailored and adapted to their biological rhythms. Baby Club also offers a Baby Room for up to 15 children and Asia’s first Baby Splash Park water play area, where parents can also share some fun with their children. With the addition of the new Baby Club, Club Med Cherating Beach now offers dedicated children’s facilities for all ages, from 4 months to 17 years.

Another new addition –and a first for Club Med- is the brand’s Noodle Bar concept, championing fresh, seasonal ingredients and tasty Asian cuisine. The colourful and casual Noodle Bar brings a ‘taste of Asia’ to the extensive gourmet offerings at Club Med. Chefs at the theatrical open kitchen create guests’ favorite noodle specialties from Malaysia and beyond.

Eco-Discovery Trails and Nature Activities for all ages allow guests to get back in touch with nature while enjoying and helping to protect the unspoiled wilderness. Guest can discover unique wildlife experiences through specialized, age-appropriate programs such as theJungle walk, Turtle Sanctuary and Clean Art Planet.

The most popular activity –the Treetop Challenge Rope Course – carries on this eco-friendly tradition. Catering to young and old alike, the course is among the most innovative and effective tools for outdoor adventure learning. Challenges are ingeniously weaved into the unique design of this adventure facility.

Club Med’s Eco-Nature Resorts are a pioneering initiative designed to offer authentic eco-certified architecture and wildlife experiences within a preserved natural site. Club Med Cherating Beach Resort has passed all requirements to qualify as a globally recognized Green Globe Benchmarked Accommodation-Vacation Hotel and has Green Globe Silver certification. In April 2012, the resort was named Most Innovative Sustainable Project at the prestigious HA+D 2011 Green Plus Awards for Sustainability, honoring creativity, excellence and sustainability in product innovation and project designs.
