MUMBAI- Since 2010, it is possible to do a day tour into the famed Indian studios in Mumbai where hundreds of films every year keep on with the living legend of Bollywood.

Bollywood Tourism is behind the organisation of the tour which take tourists through a six- to eight-hour visit, which include visiting live studios, watching and even participate to Bollywood numbers, observing actors learn the ropes and sneaking at the behind-the-scene activities such as make-up and or famed dances performances. Many studios –generally closed to the public- decided to open their doors for the tour, which takes participants to see the villas of some

Bollywood stars such as Sharukh Khan, Rekha or Salman Khan, visit the Dharavi slums where Slumdog Millionaire was filmed. The tour goes also to ND Studios and Killick Nixon studios on Mumbai’s outskirts, where numerous lavish Bollywood blockbusters have been produced.

Now the company just launched a ‘Bigg Boss’ tour as its latest attraction. ‘Bigg Boss’ is a reality show inspired by the “uninspiring” Dutch ‘Big Brother’ reality show. Fans of this kind of entertainment can now get a chance to watch all the action and direct from the Bigg Boss house.

The tour starts on special buses that take visitors to the suburb of Lonavala where the Bigg Boss House is located. At Lonavala, visitors will access the ‘House’ via a secret passage, look through a special viewing gallery, watch the action as it happens. They will then join the crew in the Production Control Room, the centre of all activity and view the house through numerous cameras capturing every move. There is even a photo-opportunity session on the ‘Confession chair’ – where participants to ‘Bigg Boss’ expose their feelings.

Bollywood Tourism is promoting these tours to non-resident Indians and foreign visitors through online marketing and traditional channels. They also organise thematic parties, dinners and wedding as well as special MICE tours on request.
