Jet Airways has taken delivery of a Next-Generation 737-700. Mumbai-based Jet Airways operates over 200 scheduled flights daily to 38 destinations across India.

Reliability, passenger comfort and performance of the Next-Generation 737 made it the clear choice for us, said Naresh Goyal, Jet Airways chairman.

The airline operates a modern fleet of Next-Generation and Classic 737s, including Next-Generation 737-700s and -800s. With this latest addition, the airline will operate eighteen Next-Generation 737s with another eight scheduled for delivery by May 2003.

We are excited to be able to provide the right solutions for Jet Airways with Next-Generation 737s, and to play a part in providing the most technologically advanced family of airplanes in the single aisle market today, said Suvendoo Ray, President of Boeing India.

The Boeing 737-700 can fly up to 3,260 nautical miles (6,037 kilometers), the farthest of the three Next-Generation 737 models. The new 737 family builds on the unprecedented on-time rate of 99.7 percent established by the Classic models, and it offers the lowest operating costs in its class. The airplane features a spacious 777-style interior and has an advanced flight deck with the latest large flat panel display technology.

Building a quieter, more fuel-efficient airplane was a top priority for Boeing engineers designing the 737-700 and other members of the Next-Generation 737 family. The new, advanced-technology wing design on the models helps improve fuel efficiency. The model`s new CFM56-7 engines produced by CFMI, a joint venture of General Electric Co. of the United States and Snecma of France, meet community noise restrictions well below current Stage 3 limits and below expected Stage 4 limits. Emissions also are reduced beyond required standards.
