Rail booking tool, OpenRail waives credit card fees for AirPlus customers

Airplus partner with Click Travel on OpenRail

Specialist business travel payment provider AirPlus International announces a special partnership with online TMC Click Travel and its OpenRail booking platform.

Click Travel’s OpenRail software, showcased at the recent Business Travel Show, provides corporate rail bookers with a sophisticated booking platform that sits independently from the company’s main booking tool Travel Cloud. The OpenRail software is now available on the open market and is also available to corporate clients who use a different travel agency.

AirPlus International now provides a payment system that integrates fully with OpenRail, meaning that corporate users can view a detailed breakdown of rail expenditure alongside other travel costs. Users of the AirPlus lodge card, the AirPlus Company Account, will not incur credit card fees when booking their rail travel on OpenRail.

Simon McLean, entrepreneur and managing director of Click Travel, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with AirPlus International on our latest product OpenRail. The tie-up means we’ll be able to offer customers un-paralleled detail on the reporting and billing side, coupled with a beautifully simple interface for payment. In addition, as the AirPlus system comes without fees or charges, we’re also able to deliver substantial cost savings to the end user.”

Yael Klein, managing director of AirPlus International in the UK says: “We are delighted to have teamed up with OpenRail, enabling our customers to avoid credit card fees when booking their train tickets. We hope our customers will be able to realise significant savings on their rail spend, together with getting the best out of the policy controls and management information offered by this service.”
