2013 Bangkok ISSTEP Conference Programme is now online!

The programme 2013 of Bangkok ISSTEP (International Symposium on Society, Tourism, Education and Politics, which will take place from January 26-28, 2013 at Pullman King Power, has now been finalized.

BANGKOK- The conference programme 2013 of Bangkok ISSTEP (International Symposium on Society, Tourism, Education and Politics) will take place from January 26-28, 2013, at Pullman King Power Hotel in the centre of Bangkok. The programme has been finalized at the end of the year. On Saturday and Sunday, the conference will look at various factors influencing today society four broad themes have been selected concerning Society, Tourism, Education, and Politics.

In the field of tourism, thematic will look at the relation between travel, transportation and tourism; tourism policy; tourism development and finance; tourism management; domestic tourism; e-tourism; tourism training and finally hotel and institutional management.

Within the society themes, some of the topics which could be linked to tourism include Community/ Area, History and Culture; cultural anthropology; social marketing; education themes are also intimately linked to a successful tourism policy. And finally politics themes will look at increasingly important elements which influence also the travel world such as foreign policy, geopolitics and international security as well as the impact of global conflicts; world environmental problems, international terrorism or issues of the evolution of developing nations will also be treated during the two-day symposium.

Some of the conference topics will include a special paper on “How Effective is CSR Reporting for Corporate Reputation”; in the communication field, a paper of particular interest will be “The Ethics of Digital and Visual Manipulation – What Must the Academic and Professional Communities Do to Address the Problem?”; “Culture, Communication and Competence: Application of a Theoretical Model to Intercultural Interactions in a Service Industry” will then look at the possible relations existing between culture and services.

The tourism session will include the following topics:

  • The Effects of Servicescape and Experiential Marketing on Consumer Loyalty for Taiwan Hot Spring Hotel Industry by Kai-Chieh Hu of Soochow University;
  • Using social media services for Tourism to Thailand with Shu-Hsiang Chen from Maejo University, Sanggun Lee from Paichai University;  Weerapon Thongma from Maejo University and Tzung-Cheng Huan from National Chiayi University.
  • The relationships among theatrical components, experiential value, relationship quality, and relationship marketing outcomes – A Case of Theme Park in Taiwan with Chin-Fa Tsai, National Maejo University; Budi Guntoro, National Gadjah Mada University; Weerapon Thongma, National Maejo University; Tzung-Cheng Huan and Yu-ling Liao from National Chiayi University.
  • Risk takers and tourist’s satisfaction of local transportation by Yodmanee Tepanon, Kasetsart University and Wuttigrai Ngamsirijit, National Institute of Development Administration.
  • Tourism and University Branding in a Rural City through Technology by Tzu-Ching Lin, TransWorld University
