Virtuoso Travel Week taking wellness to the next level

Virtuoso Travel Week is the flagship event of the international luxury travel world, facilitating over 350,000 face to face meetings between the network's elite advisors and its exacting range of international Product Partners.

Sydney – Wellness is one of the hottest trends in luxury travel but it no longer means just staying at a hotel with a nice day spa or massage service. Today’s wellness seeker is looking for a multi-part journey that delivers on their physical and emotional goals.

“Wellness travel is certainly an area where we have seen significant change in the past few years,” says Michael Nolan, Director of Bayview Travel, a Melbourne based Virtuoso member agency.

“Clients are now looking for experiences that go beyond sightseeing and are seeking holidays that embrace activity and wellness as an equally important part of their itinerary.

“Clients are also looking further than the traditional wellness spa experience and wanting to dive in deep with experiences that deliver them a truly reflective and rejuvenating holiday.”

As over 120 Australian based luxury travel advisors head to Las Vegas next month for the annual Virtuoso Travel Week, wellness will be a major focus of the event where more than 50 luxury products will preview their programs.

“With our clients often taking three or four big trips a year, it’s our experience that many people are looking well beyond a massage and are seeking a break that incorporates a whole range of experiences that lift and revitalise them.

“This might mean hotels with healthy menus, running buddies and yoga, but increasingly it also includes adventure activities, spiritual enlightenment and digital detox,” Mr Nolan said.

“There are products across the globe that have recognised this increasing demand and have focused in on providing experiences as unique as high-tech medical wellness facilities that do extensive all over medical analysis and health checks to equine therapy which helps people work through their trauma or stress.

“As Australians explore the world more thoroughly, people are looking to find new, deeper experiences that return them feeling relaxed and invigorated and it’s our job to seek out those new experiences.”

More than 40 Australian based Virtuoso member agencies will be represented at Virtuoso Travel Week (12-18 August) in Las Vegas where they will join over 5,000 travel professionals from across the globe.

Virtuoso Travel Week is the flagship event of the international luxury travel world, facilitating over 350,000 face to face meetings between the network’s elite advisors and its exacting range of international Product Partners.
