The BYMT Football Club, an influential team in China's Sichuan province, will take part in a Chinese-Thai friendly football match with SCG Muangthong United, a Thai Premiere League football club, at the SCG Muangthong Stadium in Bangkok.
Bangkok – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has organised a “China-Thailand: Football Friendship & Experiences in Thailand 2017” project, bringing in China’s BYMT Football Club to Bangkok for a friendly match with Thailand’s SCG Muangthong Unitedduring the six-day/five-night sports and tourism itinerary in Bangkok and Ayutthaya from 25 to 30 June.
Mrs. Srisuda Wanapinyosak, Deputy Governor for International Marketing (Asia and South Pacific) of TAT said, “Footballs brings people together and is followed by millions of people. This Chinese-Thai friendly football match will help bolster the friendship between Thailand and China. At the same time, this specially-designed trip filled with unique Thai local experiences in the present and ancient capitals of Thailand can show people in the People’s Republic of China some of our wonderful attractions and modern sporting facilities as well as fascinating history and culture.”
The BYMT Football Club, an influential team in China’s Sichuan province, will take part in a Chinese-Thai friendly football match with SCG Muangthong United, a Thai Premiere League football club, at the SCG Muangthong Stadium in Bangkok at 16.00 Hrs. on 27 June, following a training session at the same venue the day before.
Led by BYMT Football Club’s President, Mr. Li Boqing, the players and members of the media from Sichuan will also visit important historical attractions, including the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo) and Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho) in Bangkok, and Wat Chaiwatthanaram, Wat Maha That and Wat Phanan Choeng in Ayutthaya.
While in Bangkok, the BYMT football players will also take part in a Muay Thai boxing lesson at Lumphini Academy Grand MuayThai while Mr. Li Boqing will learn how to cook Thai food at the Blue Elephant Cooking School. In addition, during their visit to Ayutthaya, the group will join a meaningful activity at the Ayutthaya Wittayalai School, including donating sports equipment and sharing football tips with students. In turn, the Chinese players will learn the art of the “takrao” game from the students.
Throughout the trip, Mr. Li Boqing, who is also a famous celebrity and well-known TV host in Sichuan, will be live streaming and blogging the trip and activities on various social media platforms. His Weibo account has 3.6 million followers and an average of two million views per post while his Wechat account has 540,000 followers with an average page view of 40,000. He founded the BYMT Football club in 2013, and the team has won several awards and trophies plus a reputation for promoting amateur football for health.
