THAI mourns the passing of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej

Thai Airways has arranged special waiver and fares for passengers and activities  for employees to pay their respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

With official statement of the Bureau of The Royal Household announcing the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 13 October 2016, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) has arranged special waiver and fares for passengers and activities  for employees to pay their respects.
 
Mr. Charamporn Jotikasthira, THAI President, said that the Company has organized the following for passengers and staff to pay respect in remembrance of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
 
Special Fares and Waiver:
  1. THAI implemented a ticket change/re-routing surcharge waiver for passengers traveling domestic and international flights to pay their respects. The surcharge waiver is valid for tickets issued before or by 14 October 2016, for travel during 14 October – 14 November 2016, with the condition that travel must be conducted within the original ticket validity date or by 14 November 2016.
  2. THAI is offering special roundtrip tickets on flights operated by THAI and THAI Smile to Bangkok from these domestic cities:  Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Samui, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Hat Yai, Narathiwat, and Surat Thani. 
 
Volunteer Work:
  1. THAI will set up a tent where employees will distribute free water and refreshing towels to those paying respect to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The tent will be located in front of THAI’s office on Larn Luang Road.  A bus will be available to transport employees to pay their respects at the Royal Palace.
  2. THAI has invited its employees to participate in blood donation and merit making with monks. A portrait of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej was put on display for members of THAI Board of Directors, Management, and employees to pay their respects and sign a condolence book. In addition, a photo exhibition was arranged in memory of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in the Lobby of THAI’s Head Office, with photos from the covers of Sawasdee inflight magazine and from his travels with THAI. As well, THAI will arrange for employees to pay their respects at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall.
