Vietjet launches two new international routes from Hai Phong City

The new routes will bring the total number of Vietjet’s flights operating out of Cat Bi International Airport, Hai Phong to nine and are aimed at attracting more investment, tourism and promoting local economic growth.

SINGAPORE – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (“Vietjet”) has announced the launch of two new international routes connecting Hai Phong City, Vietnam with Seoul, South Korea and Bangkok, Thailand.
 
The new routes will bring the total number of Vietjet’s flights operating out of Cat Bi International Airport, Hai Phong to nine and are aimed at attracting more investment, tourism and promoting local economic growth.
 
With our continuously expanding network, we believe that these new international routes will not only benefit the people of Hai Phong, but will also help to boost trade and economic exchange“, said Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chairwoman, Vietjet at the launch announcement.
 
The Hai Phong to Seoul route will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 12 December, 2016. The flight will depart from Cat Bi International Airport at 11.45pm (local time) and arrive in Seoul at 6.00am (local time). The return flight will take off from Seoul at 7.15am (local time) and land in Hai Phong City at 10.40am (local time). The flight time is approximately five hours.
 
The Bangkok route will depart from Hai Phong at 6.05pm (local time) every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 9 November, 2016 and arrive at 7.55pm (local time). The return leg will depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport 3.20pm (local time) and land in Hai Phong City at 5.10pm (local time). The duration is approximately one hour and 50 minutes.
 
The announcement was attended by Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vietnam’s Prime Minister, leaders of Hai Phong City and members of Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport and amongst other governmental agencies.
 
Up until 30 August, 2016, Vietjet had operated more than 10,000 flights, carrying nearly two million passengers safely on its seven local and international routes to and from Cat Bi International Airport. The airline is currently accounting for the largest segment of total air travel passengers to and from the city.
